I'm Father David Strong from Seattle,Washington. I serve as the Pastor of Community Church of Joy, Seattle. We are a united church of the International Christian Community Churches and the Apostolic Catholic Church of America.
One of my deepest passion is the convergence of African American culture and liturgical worship. I believe that ordered worship allows the Christian person to focus on God for their object of worship and be renewed by worship to go into the world to share not only the good news of the gospel, but to be active seekers of justice for all people. As an early saint stated: You can not received the Body of Christ in the Eucharist and ignore that Body of Christ (people).
I'm particular interested in the recovery of sacred music in the African American community. Hymns, spirituals and anthems. I believe that Gospel music has an ability to move the human heart and body, when it's words are directed at the right object for worship. The Holy Trinity.
